The Maxi and Peasant Style for Plus Sizes

A perfect choice for plus sizes, the maxi dress and peasant styles flow over unsightly bumps while keeping things breezy. Big-busted women should keep an eye out for halter-tops or V-necks, as they are more flattering. Try to avoid elastic around the bust!

As prints are very popular this season, a great deal of the maxi dresses you see on the racks will have a pattern of some sort. Make sure that the print is no larger than the palm of your hand – any larger, and it will overwhelm your frame.

The cut of your clothing is very important. Plus-size women need to avoid anything with too much volume – after all, we want to look stylish, and not as though we’re wearing muumuus! Peasant shirts with an empire cut and a-line skirts will look best on a larger frame. Also, try to stay away from light colors – they will make you appear wider. Instead, go for bright blues and purples, or seek out bold prints.
